CANDIDATE FOR VICE-PRESIDENT
Campaign Statement:
My Name is Denise Washington, and I am submitting my nomination for Vice President of the Mystic
Krewe of Femme Fatale (MKFF). My vision is to deliver a positive and rewarding MKFF membership
experience through operational excellence where every member feels valuable, connected, and
included. I come to you with eight years of servant leadership serving the members of MKFF and will
continue to put the needs of the organization and membership first. I have grown immensely by
committing myself to help with the growth and development of the organization over the years.
During my tenure as a member, I am the first elected board member-at-large where I hold the
appointment as the MKFF Membership Committee Chairwoman, I have also been elected as Vice
President of the MKFF Foundation, board appointed as Parade Float Lieutenant, board appointed as
Parade Committee Chairwoman, and elected as Co-Float Lieutenant. In my leadership capacities, I’ve
found that it’s not about face value but it’s about the true value of our organization and its worth to the
community through preserving our culture.
As the next elected Vice President of MKFF, I will strive to uphold these values by being ACCOUNTABLE. I
will move the organization forward excellently. I will be CARING by being respectful, empathetic, and
collaborative. I will fully embrace the power of teamwork and partnerships. I will be COURAGEOUS by
focusing on driving actions to move our organization forward. I will be INCLUSIVE and embrace the
power of diverse ides that can be formed through our unique background and experiences. I will be
INNOVATIVE by proactively transforming how we do business in new meaningful ways. Most of all, I will
be TRUSTWORTHY by being transparent, authentic, ethical and operate with integrity in everything we
do. I have always respected and admired the founder and founding members of MKFF who had the
vision and desire to build a Mardi Gras organization consisting of women who look like us.
I would like to bring my expertise in leadership, collaboration, focus on our members, and business
knowledge to the organization to help MKFF reach the next level of its goals. Together, through
collaborative efforts, I foresee this organization as second to none that will benefit the members
concurrently. While COVID has changed the way we do business, there is still a need for engagement,
more growth, and collaboration with those in which we serve, the members.
As Vice President of MKFF, I will strive to manifest more inclusiveness in the organization. I have the
passion to get things done and know who to talk to when other things are needed. I will do my best to
meet the needs of the members and to keep the organization moving forward in a positive direction.
It's an exciting time to be part of MKFF. The success of MKFF depends on all members and I have faith in
the future of our organization as we plan and prepare for it together. One Krewe, One Love!
Mystically yours,
Denise Washington
