CANDIDATE FOR PARLIAMENTARIAN
Campaign Statement:
I am Danielle Moses; I joined Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale (MKFF) in 2014 as it was an opportunity to fellowship, encourage and celebrate with other Black Women. I am running for Parliamentarian to help Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale continue to grow and amplify our brand. When members first join, they are excited; we need to build upon their excitement. I have one overarching goal: to work with our leadership and members to implement a sustainable organizational framework to strengthen the infrastructure of MKFF. Having the interworking of our organization easily accessible and understandable to members would be a great way to maintain and build upon that excitement. The stronger our organization is, the more significant the impact we will have on shaping the culture of Mardi Gras.
I have over 20 years of experience analyzing, investigating, interpreting, writing, and implementing local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures, 19 of those years have been working as a Civil Servant.
I have worked on several projects in my tenure as a Civil Servant. Still, I am most proud of the work I completed as a co-lead for Louisiana Medicaid Expansion, which led to more than 400,000 previously uninsured Louisianans being newly eligible for Medicaid within the first six months of the Medicaid Expansion being available.
In my personal and social life, I am proud to have been chosen to Chair the inaugural and 2nd annual Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale Health and Resources Fair held in conjunction with the Dryades YMCA organization. I worked with MKFF Health & Resources Fair co-chairs and committees to coordinate sports physicals, immunizations shots, hearing and vision screening for approximately 150 children. In addition, we coordinated a school supply drive and giveaway for 500 children.
I am currently one of Mrs. Sharon Howard’s co-Lieutenants for the Tantalizing Femmebassadors Krewe of MKFF. In addition, I currently serve as co-chair of MKFF Grievance Committee; I am an active member of MKFF Community Engagement Committee, Finance Committee, and Bylaws Committee.
Additionally, I am President-Elect for the River Parishes Chapter of the Grambling University Alumni Association (GUNAA). Prior to being recruited for this role, I was a very active member of the Crescent City Chapter of GUNAA, where I chaired the Outreach Committee and was a member of the membership Committee, Bayou Classic Committee, and the Kicks Ball.
I am qualified to be MKFF Parliamentarian based on my work experience, knowledge, and leadership skills. I understand the framework needed as the primary person responsible for interpreting and advising on bylaws, standard operating procedures, and running meetings. As Parliamentarian, I will do that plus, I envision having training on Parliamentary Procedure for all Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale leadership to include but not limited to board members, committee chairs/co-chairs, etc. Once elected, I will be a leader who considers all points of view and all options when making decisions.
