CANDIDATE FOR MEMBER-AT-LARGE
Campaign Statement:
I was inducted in the Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale’s Class of 2017 and soon after I became a member
of the By-Laws Committee and active participant of the Community Engagement Committee. Prior to
joining MKFF, I admired the organization and attended several events. Now that I’m a proud Femme, I
would like to contribute to the continued development, growth of the organization as well as be of
service to the members and our community while continuing to have fun!
I am an elementary teacher by degree; however, I have worked in the financial services industry for over
32 years. During my 28-year tenure at Capital One Bank (US top ten bank), I grew from an entry level
position to a Director/Vice President managing 25-30 people and collaborating with the bank’s
executives as a process engineer, strategist and analytical contributor. In my current role at Fiserv, Inc.
(a Forbes Fortune 500 Financial Technology Company), I’m responsible for assisting C-Suite (CEO, CIO &
COO) executives at banks, credit unions and other financial services organization with finding viable
technical payments solutions that meets the industry demands for faster payments.
Being result driven and a team player, has enabled me to earn individual as well as team awards and
recognitions related to leadership, project management, client satisfaction, process improvement and
sales goals.
In addition to my work experience, I have been the Lead Chairperson Reunion Committee for my high
school class for over 20 years. I have organized events such as; class reunions, K-Day festivals, brunches,
class birthday parties and more. I’m also responsible for all administrative duties (e.g., collecting
monies, working with vendors to design favors, wears, food and other logistics).
I’m a member first; so, when elected I will petition the other Board of Director members to appoint me
as the Membership Liaison. Which will enable me to be an advocate for our members. My belief is that
in order for our organization to grow and be financially sound, we must have an informed and engaged
membership that feels respected.
As Board Member-at-Large my goals are to;
• Understand the inner works of the organization and look for ways to create leaner processes
that will promote operational efficiencies
• Take a deep dive into the member-only portal to seek out opportunities to maximize the
features we have available and other improvements
• Create a forum that would empower members to provide ideas and feedback that would
enhance the organization as a whole
In conclusion, given my professional experience and social engagements I’m confident that I have the
qualifications required to be a successful Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale Board Member at Large. When
elected, I promise to serve our organization with 100 percent commitment.
