CANDIDATE FOR CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
Campaign Statement:
I believe in FEMME Nation! I believe in what it does for young girls and women that look like me. I’m honored to know my story is now a part of her story, and her story is a part of my story, and all our stories are in debt to the ones that paved the way for this great organization.
Good evening. My name is Lisa Marie Hagan. I am a native of New Orleans and a graduate of Oliver Perry Walker High School, a mother of three: Treviana, Troy Jr., and Tanner Knight. I’m also a proud Yai-Yai to my grandson Karter Grayson.
I know I’m ready to serve FEMME Nation as your next elected Chairwoman of the Board. You may be wondering why you should vote for me? There are three reasons I will list for you tonight: involvement, experience, and commitment.
First, involvement- I have been a member of the Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale since 2016, serving on the following committees: Membership, Community Engagement, Special Events, Secretary for the Bylaws, and Co-lieutenant for the LaDames’. I am a FEMME of service, and you can depend on me.
Second, Experience- I am a certified educator, an advocate for educational equity, a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity, Delta Epsilon, and NOLA Women Inc. For more than twenty years, I have served as a classroom teacher, lead teacher, dean, assistant principal, and advisor for the Louisiana Department of Education in Mathematics. I currently hold a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Holy Cross.
I have served on two Boards of Directors as an Educator Member and Membership Sponsor, where I have helped with planning and facilitating the board meetings.
Third, but most importantly, Commitment- Commitment is what I have given in every area of my life, be it personal or professional. My commitment as a member of the Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale has been to serve in excellence as a LaDame and an active member of several different committees. Therefore, I can genuinely say I am a servant leader with experience, years of involvement, and commitment to The Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale. I will continue this commitment and carry out my responsibilities when elected as your next Chairwoman of the Board.
Ladies of FEMME Nation, I will leave you with this. When selecting your next Chairwoman of the board, the decision you make will shape The Future of FEMME Nation. I ask for your vote as a Femme that understands that we are stronger when we work together. I am my sisters’ keeper who will continue to put the Future of FEMME Nation First, so her-story changes his-tory of Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
The Future is Femme First! The Future is Femme First!
Thank you for your time, and I solicit your support of my campaign to become Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale Chairwoman of the Board.
Femme,
Lisa Marie Hagan
